This Summer, Joyner has finally gotten to be back on the volleyball court... with his toes in the sand! It has been hard to go support him with Kinsley being so little, but we did try to manage it at least once! Blake loves watching Joyner play and keeping the score. :)
Happy 1 year of marriage to us! Thanks to COVID and our growing family, it has honestly felt like more than a year. HAHA. There is a quote that says, "I remember the days when I prayed for what I have now". I think that very much applies to both of us right now. Our daily lives seem very chaotic, but I know we are both so grateful for the life that we have created together. Here's to many more!
Kinsley girl is 3 months old! She is really starting to take shape... literally she is packing on the pounds and getting all those cute little baby rolls. She loves to snuggle, smile, and play with her little toys. She also loves taking in the world around her - she even gave us a little laugh a few days ago. I know that the next few months will bring on even bigger milestones! It is so much fun watching her growing and become a part of our little family. We are all smitten by her.
And... can I just say that Blake and Kinsley are the cutest together. Blake seriously adores Kinsley and loves spending so much time with her. He is the best big brother in the world!
This year Blake has been doing swim lessons at Granite Falls. They have such an awesome outdoor pool, so we decided that we would join membership there! We now get to go to the pool as a family whenever we want. The super cool thing about it is that they have a water slide AND a lazy river, too! It is somewhat difficult to really enjoy it with Kinsley being so small, but next year will be amazing with the whole family in the pool! For right now - Blake and Joyner are living up the pool days! Haha. Oh - and the best part is that we get guest passes, so we love taking our favorite people to the pool with us!
Happy July 4th!!! This year our family was excited to participate in some of the WF July 4th Events. Each year they do a children's parade where kids can ride their bikes and families can walk Downtown Historic WF. Blake was all ready to ride his bike and we decorated Kinsley's stroller. We also did a summer project where we tie dyed family shirts red, white, and blue! It was an interesting experiment! Haha. I think Blake was disappointed that he could ride faster in the parade - he wanted to be a speed demon, but we still had fun celebrating the holiday together in our cute little town!
We then went to watch the fireworks in Rolesville. Kinsley was a little too small for the loud noises, so she stayed with GG and Heather at the house. Blake LOVES fireworks, so we had a blast picking out our favorite ones. COVID ruined most holidays last year, so it has been nice to be able to celebrate some of these traditions again!
For Father's Day/birthday, we got Joyner a projector to play movies on outside in the backyard. We got to test it out this week. We set everything up and watched a cute new Disney movie called Luca. It was SO much fun! I loved the warm summer night with the crickets and our family in the backyard watching a movie. It was a cool experience and I can see lots of movie nights with friends in the future! I just love out backyard. We have put a lot of time and effort into making our backyard a great entertainment space and it is really paying off - lots of great memories being made here.
