Girls Beach Day

The past 5-6 weeks have been personally very rough... physically and emotionally draining. So, my mom thought it would be best for us to enjoy a day of solitude at THE BEACH! I couldn't agree more. I am a big believer that the beach is good for the soul. It is something about seeing a wide open ocean that puts things into perspective. All of a sudden you realize that there is a whole big world out there and your problems, in comparison, don't seem so overwhelming.

My dad (G-Daddy) was thrilled to hang out with Blake for the day while I escaped to the beach with my mom and Taylor. We quickly drove to Wrightsville beach to soak in some sun and relaxation. We got there at around 10 and planted our stuff in the sand. We laid out, listened to music, read magazines, and people watched (and boy did we see some interesting things!). Once we couldn't take the heat any longer we walked down the beach and then ate lunch on the pier. It was an absolutely beautiful day! Eventually we were run off by a storm, but it was probably for the best. Staying out there much longer would have turned us into burnt lobsters. Yikes!

Overall it was just what the doctor ordered. We were all able to come back to Wake Forest rejuvenated and refreshed...and not burnt! Ready to take on the month of July!

Finding Joy in the Journey

There are so many cliche statements about life... but my favorite is "Find Joy in the Journey."

My life, and my family's life, has taken somewhat of a dramatic change. It has been a tough lesson in the twists and turns of the unexpected, and probably one of the hardest things I have personally ever had to deal with, but there are some things that I guess you just can't control. It is in the ebb and flow of life that you need to remember to find the joy in the journey. Even though my life is taking a path that I never thought it would, I am determined to find the joy in it. I have WAY too many blessings for there to be any other option except to find joy.

So, sit back, and enjoy the adventures of Blake and myself! :) We are a fun pair and we can't wait to share our joy with you. Just like our last blog, this one is dedicated to our future loved ones. As always, it is my hope that this blog will be printed at the end of each year and added to our collection of family stories, and one day enjoyed for many generations to come.
