Back 2 School

 We are back to school this week! I am on my 11th and 12th year of teaching....ugh. But more importantly, Blake is starting the 4th grade!!! How is that possible?!!! Look how big he looks! 

We are hoping this is somewhat of a normal "post pandemic" (kind of) year! The kids still have to wear masks to school BUT they are actually in school this year! Yay! This is also a big year because Blake will be riding the bus for the first time. The bus stops right in front of our house in the neighborhood. He is sooooo excited. He will also be in Mrs. Bendel's class this year with one of his buddies from last year, Benson. We can't wait to see what this year brings... and we hope that they can actually stay in school all year this year! Haha. 

Of course we had to take the traditional first day of school pic and his 2030 graduation year pic! 

Art Museum

 We decided to be a little artsy fartsy (if you know Blake and Joyner you get that last party) today. We explored the NC Art Museum. They have a beautiful trail that goes around the outside with large art sculptures and pieces to look at. We had a little fun with it all! It was so fun to enjoy the beautiful day and also do something a little out of the normal. 

Kinsley 4 Months

 Our Little Mermaid is 4 months old today!! She is such an amazing little girl, she's so happy even after getting her shots today!! She weighs in at 13 pounds and 8 ounces and stands 25.5 inches tall! She's growing so quick!

Summer Recap

 This is our last week of summer break!!! We had to move at a little slower pace with our new family of four, but I think we still had a blast!

We got to go to the beach once - but mostly we had a lot of "staycation" fun! Blake learned how to ride his bike. We got to actually celebrate July 4th and go out in public this year! We were able to enjoy our sports and swimming. I would say Summer was a success!

Blake and I go back to school next week. Blake will be in 4th grade and I will be starting my 11th year of teaching. Kinsley will be staying at home with Joyner while he works. Back to reality! Wish us luck!

Sunflowers and Sunshine

 Fall is my favorite season. One of the things that marks the end of Summer and the start of Fall are the sunflowers! Hillridge farms does a huge sunflower celebration and we love going to look at them. In true typical end-of-summer-fashion there are always summer thunderstorms and showers. In fact, I think the last two years that we have gone to see the sunflowers we have had to deal with a summer shower. Today was a gorgeous day and, go figure, the second we got out there it started to rain. We got in a few good pictures and we "got lost" in the sunflowers for a quick second before we had to run for cover. I guess that sums up Summer pretty well..... bring on Fall! Haha. 

By the way... I love how my family is used to getting in the quick family pics wherever we go. They are good to put up with me constantly saying "quick - let's take a pic!". :)

Globetrotters

 Way back before Covid, we had purchased tickets for Blake to go see the Globetrotters. When COVID hit they cancelled the show. Thankfully they have come back and we were able to keep our tickets! It might have been delayed, but we had a blast watching the Globetrotters do all of their tricks. :) AND Blake was able to bring one of his Rolesville friends, Grey with us!
