Blastball Finale

With the Summer coming to an end, so is blastball...

Blake has had so much fun playing Blastball, an intro to TBall. He has really practiced hitting the ball and is great at throwing! I think he has really learned to love baseball and he will really be ready to play TBall next year!

Blake will also start playing Multi-Sports next. That is a class where he will be introduced to several sports; including tennis, basketball, and soccer. Hopefully this class will show me what other sports wants to play. Finally, in the winter Blake will play Basketball! I sure do love my little athlete!

Back 2 School

We are officially in Back To School Mode...ready or not!

Blake is starting his last year of PreK at the Kid's Educational Center. His teacher is Ms. Teisha. He loves to play in the block center and he wants to be a race car driver or a police officer when he grows up. He isn't a fan of waking up so early, but he always has a good time playing with his friends. Blake likes playing with Cody and Bella... and Hunter will be back in January.

I can't believe he will be going to kindergarten next year!!

I have also accepted some new challenges at school. I will be teaching 10th grade this year, along with my 11th grade AP class. I have only taught 10th grade one other time, so there will be lots of lesson plan adjustments for me. I will also be busy with SGA (Student Government Association). This will be my 4th year doing it and I think I have it pretty organized this year. Hard work is paying off on that one! Finally... I may or may not have a student teacher. We will see!

Back to School time always is a tough transition. Lots of transitions ahead, but I know Blake and I will both grow and learn so much. We will also REALLY look forward to the weekends! Haha.

Summer Bucket List Completed

This has probably been the best Summer I have had with Blake. They just keep getting better and better...and harder to leave. We are gonna miss our Summer together! However, I think we completed about everything on our bucketlist!

Let's recap...

Could this Summer have been any more perfect!?!?!?
I'm not very thrilled about going back to work, but I am looking forward to the Fall. That is my favorite season! The mommy/son dates will continue and I can't wait to share more memories with my little best friend.

Earning Our Wings

Blake and I added a special addition to our Summer Bucketlist this week... We earned our helicopter wings!!!! It was probably the most exciting thing of the whole Summer!!!

I found out that there was a helicopter company that was offering "mini" helicopter rides very close to us. It was a little pricey, but it is also a once in a lifetime experience! I mean, I am 30 and I have never been in a helicopter!

I told Blake we were going to ride one, but I think he was expecting a little toy helicopter. His eyes got huge when he say the real helicopter waiting for us in a field! The pilot said we had an important decision to make... we could both sit in the back of the helicopter or one of us could sit in the front with the pilot. Of course, I asked Blake what he wanted to do..thinking he would be a little scared and want to sit with me. Nope, my adventurous little boy proudly said he wanted to sit with the pilot!!! We got him buckled in and I thought he might change his mind. Nope, again! He was set and ready to ride! He sure did have the best view in the air!

I took my seat comfortably in the back. I think I have turned into a giant wimp with age because I literally thought I would pee in my pants. I have developed a little fear of heights and I don't normally do well when my adrenaline starts pumping. I really had to work on my breathing while we were "taking off", but once we got up there the view was simply amazing!!! I also laughed at how nervous I was and how confident and content Blake was. He is so brave!

The views were of the beautiful country! We passed farms, forests, neighborhoods and more. The pilot even pointed out some horses to Bake! We couldnt have asked for a more beautiful day to see the scenery.

This was by far the most amazing moment that I got to experience with Blake. We are still talking about it a few days later!! We are so grateful that we can experience these adventures and this was the perfect one to end our Summer with!

Taylor's Wedding

I can't believe that my little sister got married on August 5, 2016!!! WOW - I am feeling old!

We are so happy for Taylor and we are beyond thrilled to welcome Jordan to the family. Blake already thinks Uncle Jordan is super cool. :)

The wedding was a beautiful event at the Boondocks in Youngsville. I was the proudest lady there to have the most handsome date EVER!

Life and Science Museum

Blake and I had the ultimate Mommy and Son Date this week.... we went to the Life and Science Museum! It had everything a boy could want...and maybe a little more than a mommy could handle. Haha..

Train Rides...
The oldie but goodie train ride was awesome. We got to basically see the whole park this way! Plus, you can never go wrong with a train ride when it comes to Blake.

Giant Tree House....
While on the train ride we saw a giant tree house playground. This thing was insane! It had ropes bridges, several rooms, slides, everything! Blake took off and was ready to conquer that thing. Mommy, on the other hand, probably should have stretched first. Haha.

Dinosaurs..
The best part of the whole day was going on the Dinosaur walk! Blake wasn't really sure what to expect and I think he was so surprised when he saw life size dinosaur models! I don't think he was fully convinced that they were fake. In his mind, he thought they were going to start moving any second. He wasn't really keen on having his back to any of them. He didn't trust them! Haha. I loved it because it reminded me of when I went there as a kid. So awesome!

 Creek...
The Life and Science Museum and a beautiful pebble creek beside the tree house. It was a great place to cool off some.

Overwhelming Mommy Moment #1...
I forgot to mention that I was somewhat sick during this date. I had a really bad sinus cold. Oh yeah, and it was 96 degrees outside with awful humidity. After chasing Blake all over this massive tree house, it is obvious to say that I was overheated and maybe even running a fever. Regardless, I needed a break so I told Blake we were going to the little cafe to get lunch. Once we stood in line forever (with SO many people around), I got that really cold chill that often comes when you are gonna pass out. I immediately felt light headed. Great, I was by myself with Blake at a massive place...passing out was not an option and it was not on our schedule! Quick thinking kicked in and I grabbed a cup and got some ice at the drink machine. Blake loved eating the ice, but more importantly, I put the ice on the base of my neck and on my wrist. It cooled me off pretty quickly and I drank a ton of water. I started to calm down and feel a little better. Whew... Close call!

Butterfly Park and extras...
We went to the butterfly park last, then saw the inside of the museum, and even went to the gift shop. Blake got binoculars and a dinosaur egg that will hatch in the water. I guess I didn't take many pictures at that point because I was too focused on staying cool and not passing out again!

Overwhelming Mommy Moment #2:
When all was said and done we left and went to the car to head home.... almost... Once we got to the car I realized I didn't have my phone. Instant Panic Attack (for obvious reasons!!!). We quickly ran back inside and I checked the gift shop, which is the last place we went to. It wasn't in there. I tried to calm myself and thought maybe it was in the car and I just didn't see it because I was too worried. We went back tot he car and I looked very carefully for it. Nope. Not there! Instant panic attack AGAIN. We went back inside one more time and I went to the front desk. Thankfully my phone was there!!! I apparently left it in the bathroom and a nice person turned it in. Oh. My. Goodness. I was so grateful to the amazing person who turned my phone in!!! We went back to the car for a third and final time... ready to call it a day!

Even with my little mommy freak out moments, we had an amazing time! In fact, I think Blake was a typical boy and I am not sure he even noticed my panic moments. HAHA! We had a great time bonding over some of his favorite things. He also learned so much and grew in his fascination of dinosaurs. Surprisingly, this ended up being one of our favorite things this summer!

Life is good....
