Mrytle Beach Part 2

It did rain some while we were at the beach... I think that is typical though. So we planned in advance! I prepurchased tickets to a few events at the beach.

One of the things was Pirates Voyage! It is a dinner and a pirate show! It did not disappoint! WOW! The show was a full blown theatrical performance. There was sword fighting, fireworks, leaping/diving, gymnasts, mermaids, sea lions, and the list goes on! This all happened while we ate a full blown dinner! The food was excellent, but Blake was too excited to eat anything. Haha. He was entranced in the Pirate Show! ARG!

The next day there was a morning rain shower, so we went to the Ripleys Aquarium. They are known for their shark tunnel. It is a full underwater glass tunnel that you walk through and can see all of the sharks and fish. It was awesome! Some of the sharks felt a little too close for comfort! Haha!

Naturally I got post cards from the places we visited to add to our postcard travel album. We also had to get little souvenirs from each place. Blake loves playing pirate now and he even has a little shark light gun. Boys! Haha! I got a shark ornament for our Christmas tree and a turtle bookmark. We are happy vacationers!

Myrtle Beach Part 1

Beach Week!!!! Blake and I (along with Granny) got to enjoy a week at Myrtle Beach, thanks to Uncle Donnie and Aunt Dana for letting us use their beach place for free!

We had the best week and we really needed this trip to escape and start our Summer Break off right! The place we stayed at SO many things in the little "neighborhood". We would wake up and take the golf cart to the  beach and the pool every day!

Blake loved the beach. When I was his age I hated the sand and didn't like the "mess" it would make. Blake is the total opposite. He spent the whole time digging and rolling in it! He loved splashing in the water too. We spent our beach time building sandcastles and playing frisbee!

Blake also loved the pool! And this pool was epic! It had slides, 3 different pool areas, and a lazy river! We loved the lazy river! They had a tube that would fit two people and we would ride that lazy river forever. It was so relaxing and nice. I think Blake thought it was just a small ride. Haha! Blake is also still building his confidence with swimming, so it was nice that they had a few pools he could stand in. He really loved jumping into me in the water. He would do that a million times. I got my arm workout!

But the fun doesn't stop there... see part 2! :)

Fathers Day

Please forgive the lateness of this post. We just got back from the beach, so it's time to catch up on some posts.

Fathers Day was at the beginning of this month! Blake spent the weekend with his dad, but on actual Fathers Day we all got to experience something cool together. We got to go to the Mudcats Baseball Game with Blake's TBall team. Blake and his teammates got to run out on the field with the rest of the Mudcats players during the National Anthem. Then we got to enjoy the game with all of the dads and grandpas!

Wishing a huge Happy Fathers Day to my dad! He has always been the tough love type, but he has kept me in line. We have such good memories of adventures we have been on together...and that is my inspiration for Blake! I want him to have amazing memories just like the ones I have with my dad.

Durham Bulls Game

Happy Summer!!! :)

We are already marking things off of our Summer Bucket List AND we are celebrating Father's Day a little early. Blake is really into TBall this year and it has really brought the whole family into a new love a baseball.... so I thought it would be nice to take my dad to a Durham Bulls game with Blake and I for his Fathers Day gift!

I have such great memories when it involves my dad and baseball. First of all, he coached my TBall and softball teams growing up. Also, we would go see lots of baseball games too... Durham Bulls and Atlanta Braves! So I love that he is now able to share those memories and make new ones with Blake too! I can only imagine the baseball secrets that these two shared tonight. Makes my heart happy...

Blake loved the game! He is almost at the end of his TBall season, so he is reallyy starting to grasp and understand the game. He was so full of questions at the game last night. He was wanting to know when the players would run to the next base, learning about strikes, and even curious about foul balls. I was really proud at how into the game he was. So, this is one of our local teams in North Carolina - historic Durham Bulls. But for some reason Blake calls the bull a moose. I laughed so hard because he would keep saying he moose. Go Moose! HAHA! It was really cute. There were also moments when I would look at Blake while he was watching the game and think, "How in the world did he become so grown up?!". Time is flying by and it almost feels like he grows so much over night. I couldn't help but take a picture of him... just hoping to freeze the memory and time before it moves quickly on to something else.

I just love him so freaking much! Haha. This game was also exciting because it really is the first adventure of our Summer together. I can't wait! It was a hit and so much fun! I LOVE making memories with this kiddo. When we went to bed that night he kept talking about how much he loved the game. THAT is what I want! THAT is what makes this momma's heart overflow with happiness. And I will do it over and over again just to make those memories with him. :)

High Five to the start of an awesome Summer!

Summer Kick Off

It's SUMMER TIME!!!!!!! I am so excited! This Summer seems extra special to me because it is the last Summer I have with Blake before he goes to Kindergarten. Almost like it's my last good bonding time with him before he takes off and becomes a full grown little/big boy. Sigh.

I say it every year, I am SO GRATEFUL to have a job that allows me to have 9-10 weeks during the summer to stay at home with my son. These Summers are times in which Blake and I can really enjoy some amazing adventures together. We for sure have some awesome ones ahead!!! But... before we get to all that....

We were able to go out on the boat for the first time this year and Blake surprised me by wanting to ride the tube! He did great.... at we made sure to go snail pace slow. Haha! I love my little adventurous boy!

Best Buds

I am so grateful for so many people that are in Blake's life... but I am most grateful that he has a best friend like Hunter. We really lucked out in finding Hunter and his family! These boys play hard, fight hard, and love hard together. And thankfully we mom's have formed a pretty awesome friendship as well where we can encourage, laugh, and cry together.

This month we took the boys to see Captain  Underpants! Blake and I have been reading this series together at night, so it was really awesome for him to connect it with the movie. Based on the title, it is easy to see why these boys loved it - it was fully of jokes about butts, wedgies, and farts. Haha... life with boys!

Both Blake and Hunter have also been into TBall this year, but they play in different leagues. So we made sure that they each went to one others game to cheer them on and teach them more about friendship. I just love the bond that these two have.

Blake and Hunter will sadly go to different kindergartens next year, but we mothers have already made several plans for them to continue to see each other!
