Snow Day...Days

Are you serious.... we have another week of snow!!! This rarely NEVER happens in NC! For the past two weeks we have only gone to school on Monday and then we have had the rest of the week off. I think it's safe to say that Blake and I have been totally spoiled at home.

Last night we actually got a great accumulation of snow... about 6-7 inches! So, naturally this morning we went out and played in it! This year Blake was all about it. In previous years we kind of just stuck him in the snow and took some pictures. Haha. Blake loved the snow this year!!! The smiles didn't leave his face! :)

Thankfully some old neighbors let us borrow their sled that their daughters used when they were younger.  I have to say that was more of a work out for mommy than anything.

Blake also discovered the art of snowballs. He actually got me a few times when I was trying to take a picture of us. Sneaky little one!!! :)

We will probably be out of school again tomorrow and we will enjoy the last bit of the snow before it is gone! Back to reality next week... and my bday is next week. Shh...

Super Heroes

Our internet has been messed up this week, so enjoy two different posts today! :)

Last week we had a little ice/freezing rain storm and we were out of school for most of the week. There wasn't really much to play with outside, so we had to resort to our creative abilities inside. Which of course meant....saving the day as super heroes!!! Blake's dress up clothes are capes and masks and we had a blast with them. His imagination is amazing and he has no problem telling me what to do in order to play along. Haha.

Mommy and Blake save the day!!!!

Circus Fun

When  I was a little girl I remember going to the circus each year. It was so much fun. Actually I just remember sitting in amazement at all the crazy things that they would do. Of course I remember the elephants and the clowns and the trapeze acts. To me, that is like a standard thing that every child should experience. So... Blake's turn!!!!

This year the circus came around his birthday, so I thought that would be a great mommy/son date to take him on. His Granny got to go to Disney on Ice with us, so we decided to ask GDaddy to go alone with us on this adventure! Oh boy, did we have a blast!

We got there a little early and saw the "pre show." They had lots of thing going on at the floor and you could see some of the acts up close and personal. I think Blake was a little overwhelmed with what all was going on. He saw an elephant and asked if it could get out. Haha.

My dad and I quickly learned where the Circus made it's money.... toys and cotton candy. Both of which Blake got! The cotton candy was $13 because it had a cheap hat attached to it. Luckily Blake loved the hat, so I guess it was worth it.

I loved that Blake got to see all of my favorites from the circus. I think they were his favorites too. He loved the elephants and the tigers/lions. He was somewhat into the motorbikes in the giant cage as well.

I am so glad that we got to share this adventure together! Nothing beats watching the excitement in your little one's eyes!!! :) When we got in the car to leave, Blake smiled and said "I had fun at the circus!". Melts my heart. Love checking things off of our bucketlist together, buddy!!! :)

Blake is 3

I am a few days behind on this post... probably because I am in complete denial that Blake is 3. Yes, I said it... Blake is 3!! It honestly does seem just like yesterday that I was pregnant and anxiously awaiting his arrival. This year was very sentimental and I was flooded with memories of Blake as a baby. Whew... gets me. For some reason 3 just seems like a little boy and not a baby anymore. In my mind he will always be my baby. That's just how it is! Haha.

Blake had a great 3rd birthday... or should I say it was SUPER!!! :) We had a Superman party for our family and he loved it. This year he made us sing twice to him. He even sang to himself. So cute! He also got a Power Wheels Jeep from Ryan and I. He is a wild man on the road. You have to watch out for him.

Blake also had his 3 year old check up yesterday. He was great! He did everything they asked him to do and he also got to play with Dr. Jena's tools. He is all caught up on shots, so we didn't have to get any this time. He weighs 33lbs and he is 3 feet and 2.5 inches. Big boy!

Blake at 3....
  • He is still very active. Always on the go.
  • He sleeps great at night now, but he will always climb in bed with me in the middle of the night. He snuggles right up to me and then goes back to sleep. I love it.
  • He still wakes up super early!
  • Naps are still a must! We love nap time.
  • The boy has to have donuts in the morning!
  • He also loves mac n cheese, noddles, carrots, strawberries, peas, green beans, and french fries.
  • His favorite shows are Little Einsteins, Paw Patrol, and Wonder Pets
  • He is still a little book worm. Always reading.
  • He is really into imagination play - especially with superheros and characters from his shows.
  • He LOVES Superman and superheros in general. They are his favorite!!!
  • He is now talking up a storm and talking all the time.
  • He is potty trained, except for at night.
  • He is so well behaved. He has only been in time out a few times in his life. Knock on wood that continues during the threes.
  • Blake loves his friends and family so much. He always asks about everyone.
  • He can drive is Power Wheels and he is also getting pretty good at riding his tricycle.
  • He can sing his ABC's
  • He can count things up to 10
  • His favorite game is hide and seek.
  • Milk and water are the only things he will drink now. Juice went away by choice.
