Ice Cream Dates and Spring Concerts

Blake and I have discovered our new favorite date spot.... Ice cream at the Dairy Depot! Pretty sure we are going to start going there once a week after school. Blake started liking ice cream  a few months ago. His favorite is "white" ice cream... no sprinkles! He also is very against chocolate! Haha! Either way, we sure are enjoying our sweet treats.

Wake Forest also has a thing called Six Sundays in Spring. It's where they do live music and food in the park for six Sundays during the Spring time. Blake and I ventured out and enjoyed the first Sunday. Blake loved laying out the blanket and playing with his ball. And yes, Miss Jodi (my friend from work) even got Blake ice cream! Haha.

We are LOVING our Spring dates!

Puppy Thor

Do not let the title mislead you... we did NOT get a puppy! :) Instead, Aunt T got a puppy and we get to play with it! Now that's a good deal. Puppy Thor is furry puppy perfection!

Spring is Here

Spring is here....and so is the pollen! Blake and I have both had massive allergy issues this year,  but we are not letting that get us down. We are welcoming all that Spring has to offer!

We planted some Spring flowers at the house. I just love the colors!

We also went on a little adventure to Youngsville in order to help Aunt T with her wedding planning. This little boy is my whole world and I wouldn't trade that for anything!!!

Spring Break Blast

Oh my goodness.... we had a blast this Spring Break! So many fun things to do!

First of all...we got a car! Yes, I know...exciting! It was well deserved and planned for and we are loving the new ride!

Then the big trip this year was to Pilot Mountain to see and explore. Blake is at the perfect age where he can start to enjoy some of the touristy things of a town. Granny really enjoyed showing us around everywhere!

We explored both downtown Pilot Mountain and Mt. Airy! Of course, Mt. Airy is often called Mayberry because of the Andy Griffith show. Many people commented on Blake looking like Opie, the little boy from the show. Must have been because of the red hair. :)

Blake also noticed that their were many "tars" or guitars around the area in dedication and decoration to the town.

And would you believe that the town had my favorite animal there!?!?!? Giraffes!!!!

On Day 2 we went to the farm! This was Blake's favorite part! He got to ride on the tractor with Uncle Mike. Jean Carol event showed Blake the horses. That was my favorite part! They are so pretty! I want to ride them! That is on my bucket list, by the way. :)

On Day 3 we went hiking. It was a gorgeous day to see the view. On a clear day, you can hike Pilot Mountain and actual see Winston Salem way off in the distance. Pretty neat! Of course, Blake loved climbing the rocks. I am pretty sure he could have done the 8 mile hike if I would have let him. He is a boy on a mission!

This was such a wonderful trip for us. Spending quality time with Blake is by far my favorite thing to do. I love showing him the world. And he is my world!

March Resolutions

Wow...Is it already April?! Time has gotten away with me.

March was somewhat of a hectic month, but I did get one and almost two books read.
1) After You - the sequel for a book I read before and loved!
2) The Guardian - My once a year Nicholas Sparks book. Had to get the cheesy love in. :)

Blake and I had a very busy month! We had lots of fun dates this month... just a recap...
  • We celebrated my birthday with going out to each and cake!
  • Got a t-ball stand and played baseball in the yard
  • We did two trips to the playground and library.
  • We also had our Spring Break trip... that was so big that it requires its own special blog entry. We did LOTS of things on that trip!
We are so glad that it is finally getting warmer outside! Looking forward to what April has in store for us!
