Baby Update:10 Weeks

We are 10 weeks pregnant and things are starting to get REAL! I had a super long appointment today - they checked everything that was possible to check - I had a urine sample, blood sample, weight, temp, ultrasound, and more! Haha. The good news is that all checked out well! Baby is doing great and has a heart rate of 169ish. We even got to see him/her on the ultrasound moving just a little bit - more like little twitches at this point. I am still feeling a little sick on some days and tired, but other than that I feel great. I also feel GIANT compared to how big I was with Blake - I am like double the size this time around.

At this appointment we opted to get some early genetic testing done. Because of my age, (I'll be 35 at time of birth), insurance is covering a lot more. Technically they consider it a high risk pregnancy - man they really know how to make a mama feel old! The genetic test will let us know if there is Down Syndrome or any other risk factors genetically speaking. It will also let us know the gender! We will know the results soon and we can't wait! :) I am hoping for a girl. Joyner would love a boy. And Blake shockingly wants a girl, too!

RCES Bulldog Parade

Changing schools during COVID times has been really interesting. Blake is doing REALLY well in 3rd grade so far and he loves his teacher, Mrs. Roberts, and classmates. It is just really hard making it all seem real when you only see your teacher and new friends on a computer screen. Thankfully, Richland Creek had a little drive thru parade for the kids to drive by and wave at their teachers. We decorated the car and made a sign for our teacher and Ashleigh (Hunter's mom who also works there). This was great for Blake to see his school and his teacher and to get excited about the school year.

COVID Update: The kids are supposed to start cycling into the classroom in October and go back full time in November. We will see if it actually happens. I know of one kid who is ready to get back to normal and see his friends! :)

White Sox Baseball

Blake started Kid Pitch Minor League baseball this Fall. It has been a big transition - especially when most of their practices have been rained out. Blake jumped right into kid pitch games and has kept it moving. These are the SLOWEST games ever btw. Since this is the first age for many kids pitching, there are a lot of balls! Most of the game revolves around kits getting walked and then they steal the bases. There are very few hits and strikes. It is also hard for kids when it comes to hitting. Blake has really struggled trying to know the difference between the balls and strikes - judging the pitches and getting used to the kids speed variations. It has been  A LOT, but he has also grown a lot. Blake has also made himself at home playing second base this season. He has done a great job and fielding. He has also shown a big passion in pitching. He has put LOTS of practice into pitching and is waiting for his debut on the mound during a game. :)

Adding to the Family - Surprise!

We are SO excited to announce that we have a little Baby Freeman on the way! So much fun surrounding this post.

First of all - This was for sure a "Honeymoon Baby", since we got pregnant basically right after we got married. We were planning on starting a family very quickly, and we clearly had no issues with that! Haha. I knew pretty early on that I was pregnant - before I was even late. I was exhausted and felt very sick. I wanted until I tested positive on a few pregnancy tests before I shared with Joyner. That was probably the hardest secret to keep! I got him a really cute fishing lure that said "New Fishing Buddy Coming Soon" and I gave it to him on a date night. He was SO excited and almost a little in shock!

The next surprise came with telling Blake. Blake has wanted a little sibling FOREVER! He has loves little ones and has often played so well with friends little siblings. I have known for a long time that he was meant to be a big brother and he will be a fantastic one! He is so caring and sweet and protective.

We scheduled "family pictures" and surprised Blake with a shirt to wear for the pictures. The shirt said Big Brother on it and Blake immediately connected the dots. He was SO excited. We then took the pictures and framed them and told our family members.

We can't wait for this exciting adventure!

Ft Macon Fun

We went to the beach for another little weekend trip and this time we went to Ft. Macon. I don't think Blake has ever been there and he LOVED learning about all the history and seeing where the military fought. He is my little American and he loves his American Pride. :)
