We got to celebrate a late VDay date at the Wakefield Barn. There is a tour going around to popular cities called Candlelight Tour. They have all strings and they play popular songs and renditions. Joyner LOVES Queen, so I found a Candlelight Concert that does their renditions. The Wakefield Barn was gorgeous as they played by candlelight. The acoustics and the mood were amazing. Such a great little date night!
I REALLY hate to say that it hasn't snowed yet this year! UGH!!!! This is the year I wanted some good snow - like a blizzard that kept us out of school for a week. But sadly, we haven't even had one snow day! It's the opposite.... it is February and it feels like SPRING! It also doesn't appear to be getting any colder, so we are out here planting flowers and just moving right on alone! Happy Spring?!!
The day of love... and I am so luck to be surrounded by so much love! I heart attacked the kids rooms (and Joyner's door). That is a tradition I do every year and I think they all like reading all of their little hearts on the door from me. We also of course got the kids candy and cute little things.
Blake and Kinsley both had little class Valentine's Day Parties. We loved sitting down and going through both of their bags and seeing all the little treats from their friends. It was really sweet.
Joyer and I kind of celebrated the weekend before - I made him watch The Notebook for the first time in his life. Haha!
We also went to get ice cream as a little Vday Family Date. The weather has been GORGEOUS for mid February. It feels like we are already in Spring, so we took advantage and enjoyed some ice cream!
I love my little family and I am so grateful for the love we have!
Blake had the absolutely best basketball season this year with the Pirates. He averaged about 4 points per game and played excellent defense. It is like basketball just started to come naturally to him! He also was part of a great team - the kids just played really well together and they had a lot of talent on their team.
They made it to the Championship game for the tournament and had to face the only team they lost to (by 1 point). Sadly they lost to that team again and it was a tough loss. That team was just a smidge better. Of course the loss was tough on the boys... they are that age... BUT we took it as a learning moment!
I tried to remind Blake how FAR they had come and all that they had learned a long the way... and that was the true win!! I am grateful that Blake had all of these sportsmanship lessons this season because I know that it is shaping him into the young man I want him to be. We are so proud of him!
Sidenote: Kinsley made it to the Championship Game but it was right in the middle of her nap time...so she sacked out in the middle of it. Haha.
Our puppy Jasper is 4!!! He still barks at everything... will snuggle sometimes... and is just as wild as ever. Haha! We love him so much though. Check out his little bday bowtie! Haha.
This year Blake wanted to play Madden with his friends for his bday. It must be that age because all of the boys love Madden. His dad created a little tournament bracket for them to play in and they had so much fun. We also ordered pizza and had cake. Then Hunter (Blake's bestie) spent the night with us! It has been a big week of celebrating! :)
Happy birthday to Blake 1-1!!!!! I seriously can't believe that I have an 11 year old. That makes me feel so old! Haha. But I am so proud of Blake and the amazing kid that he is!
