Kinsley Update- 3rd Trimester

We are officially in the 3rd Trimester...with forever left to go!

Carrying Kinsley has been WAY different than carrying Blake. She has for sure given me a run for my money. I am massive - gaining about 40bs so far. I have also dealt with a lot of aches and pains and swollen feet. The worst.

BUT - I am thankfully able to feel her kick now. My placenta has been on the front, so it prevented me from feeling her early on. Now I get to feel her moving constantly and I love that. I am also trying to treasure all of these little moments because I know my body is doing some amazing things and this will be the last time my body is pregnant.

I am SO excited for Kinsley to get here! Blake and Joyner are also excited for her to get here...they just don't get it yet until she is here. Haha.

Snow.. a little

This has NOT been our winter for snow. Instead it has set the record for being one of the wettest winters around (seriously...check the weather records). It has been nothing but cold and rain, but we somewhat lucked out on at least one short lived snow day.

The snow started late one night while we were sleeping and it was already overy by the time we woke up. It also only lasted about half the day because it was already melting. CHALLENGE ON: wake up and play in as much snow as possible before it melts into mud!

We let Jasper play in it....

Blake played with friends in it...

We built a snowman....

And we had a family snowball fight...

Mission Accomplished!

Life and Science Fun

We LOVE the Life and Science Museum ... and we have been going a little stir crazy with COVID and winter, so we decided to take a day trip.

Blake's favorite part is playing in the gigantic tree house and the dinosaurs. Joyner loves the science experiments inside. I love the train ride and the butterflies. We all had a great time exploring!

Ballin' Family Style

Blake LOVES basketball season...and it clearly runs in the family. This year was of course a little different because we are still dealing with COVID. We normally play with Rolesville Rec, but they have cancelled their season. Thankfully we found a small mini league with i9Sports. They were able to put together a league, but they still needed help with coaches. Joyner decided to help out and be the assistant coach, so that the kids could continue with the league.

This league was interesting. They do a 30 minute practice before a quick game each Saturday. I wouldn't say this was our most successful basketball season, but Blake had fun and that is what matters. We won a few games and Joyner even had fun helping out! We will take it!

Lazy 5 Ranch

We are kicking off the year with one crazy adventure at Lazy 5 Ranch... and it was COVID safe! :)

Lazy 5 Ranch is a cool little feeding zoo, near Charlotte, where you can drive thru and feed the animals from your car. We decided to make a day trip to check it out. We had no idea what to expect and this place did not disappoint!

When we got there we were able to purchase the buckets of feed - so we got two. Then they told us to simple enjoy and drive on the path. Once we crossed a gate, there were a TON of animals just roaming up to cars on the path. They were SO smart and well trained (and fed). These animals would come right up to your window and stick their big ole mouths in the bucket and eat. They each had their own personalities and little methods of getting food: the emu would peck aggressively at the food, the llamas would stare us down and road block in order to get food but they were super gentle, there were giant long horn somethings that would almost take off the side of your car, there were sweet little skittish deer, and many more!

Blake was a little nervous at first, but he quickly got excited about hanging out the window and feeding the animals. Joyner was so easy going and calm. I, on the other hand, was a nervous wreck! Haha. It probably had something to do with the first animal that I fed, which was a gigantic bison. When I went to put the food bucket out the window, all of a sudden his giant tongue came out and attacked me! Well, it really just licked my hand, but it was TERRIFYING! I basically just screamed a lot and dumped all the food I could into his mouth - which most of it missed and ended up in the car. It was a hot mess of a situation. However, it gave us endless laughs for the rest of the day!

We had such a good time and we started the year off with belly laughs - what more could we ask for?!
