Snow Day

This year has not been our year for snow. In fact, there was a second that we thought we wouldn't get any snow! Thankfully a little snow storm came in and gave us a snow day. It was very short lived and didn't give us enough to sled, BUT we did get to play!

Snow days are our favorite - we love going out and having play times. We had a great time watching Jasper play in the snow for the first time. We eat A LOT and we play lots of games inside. Snow days are out JAM! :)

We Are The Champions

I have to get right to it... Blake's team is the Rolesville Rec 8U Basketball Champions! They actually had an undefeated season and it was so much fun to watch it! I am so proud of Blake and the whole team in how hard they worked. There is something amazing about watching the confidence build up in a team. They had a blast!

Congrats, Champ!!! It was a GREAT basketball season and you played so well!

Puppy Jasper is One

Jasper came into our life in June, but he was born on February 7th. He was born into Foster Care at Saving Grace. His little litter was named after the Twilight Series (look it up...). His name was one of the characters in the vampire family. Haha.

We are grateful to know his actual birthday so that we can celebrate it. He has been a little hurricane in our life. He LOVES being outside. He will eat just about anything. He will tear up every toy given to him. He is a bed hog. And we love him SO much because he is part of our pack!

Eight is GREAT

How is my baby 8 already?!?!! Another year has passed and another birthday has come alone. This is absolutely my favorite birthday to celebrate. The day Blake was born was an amazing day. That will 6 pound baby changed my life forever on February 2nd, 2012.

Blake is such an amazing kid. He is the most social and kind child. Parents and children know Blake everywhere we go - even in the grocery store, people will stop Blake and say hey because the know him from school. He is just THAT kid that plays with everyone and loves talking! Haha.

Blake is also an amazing 8 because....

• He is smart - always getting 3's on his report cards
• He has a contagious laugh and smile - he loves telling jokes (even thought we might not get all of them. haha)
• He is SO kind - he is very sensitive and he cares about everyone's feelings. He wants everyone to be happy!
• He LOVES taking care of little kids and animals. He will maybe make a good big brother one day.
• He is really into his "games" - his tablet. He watches videos about history, games, and toys. 
• He loves basketball and baseball, but he has also really gotten into watching football this year. 
• He loves the 49ers, the Packers (bc that's GG's team), and the Panthers. 
• His favorite vacation is the beach.
• He has gotten way more independent but will still always snuggle at night.
• He is my cautious little one - he is wary of swimming, riding bikes, and change.
• He however is a little daredevil when it comes to climbing and jumping and exploring.
• He loves being outside.
• He loves his family SO much! And we love him more! 

Blake's birthday was actually on Super Bowl Sunday - so we had a football birthday party at the WF Ninja Academy. He and his friends got to do Ninja Warrior obstacle courses and races. They had a blast and they were won out afterwards. We are grateful for our amazing friends and family! 

We love you, Blake and we know eight is going to be GREAT!!!! Keep being your awesome self and do great things! 

Take Warning- Go Canes!

Blake's school participates in an awesome program called READvolution. It is a reading program that teams up with our local Carolina Hurricanes Hockey Team. Students can log 800 minutes of reading and get 2 complimentary tickets to a Canes game.

Blake took advantage of that this year and he read his little heart out. When I went to cash in the voucher, I noticed that you could upgrade seats for a little extra money AND you could purchase additional tickets. This is Blake's first hockey game, so of course we wanted to upgrade to better seats. Also, he is at the age where it is fun to bring a friend, so we added extra tickets in order to being Joyner and Blake's best friend Hunter! Hunter coming was a surprise for Blake - he didn't know about that part!

We had a blast! They boys loved watching everything and cheering on the Canes. They especially loved dancing to the music in between plays. Their amazing dance moves even got them on the Jumbotron for 2.5 seconds of fame! Haha! They thought they were famous! It was a great first hockey game adventure!

2020 Visions

It is 2020 and it is going to be a big year for us!!! Here are some things we are looking forward to....

• Hurricanes Hockey Game (Blake's first)
• Blake turns 8 on SuperBowl Sunday (and maybe the 49ers will be in it!)
• Basketball and Baseball Seasons
• Great Wolf Lodge (our annual Spring Break Trip)
• Harlem Globetrotters 
• Lots of beach trips
• Maybe a trip to Atlanta?! 
• Working on my National Boards
• Maybe building a house for our new Fam Jam
• Blake wants more muscles (haha)

...and I am sure much more! We have so many wonderful things coming up and we can't wait to enjoy it all!

Chinese Lantern Festival

We greeted 2020 with a fun night at the Chinese Lantern Festival! Blake and I go to this every year, and we were able to bring Joyner with us this year. They do a different theme every year. This year they had lots of animals and more interactive stuff! We had the best time walking around and exploring all of the beautiful displays.

And they even had this just perfect one.... almost like it was just for us! Haha.

After we explored the many lanterns, we went back home to ring in the new year! This was the first year that Blake stayed awake until midnight!! Also, we got a surprise firework show from the neighbors across the pond. It was a perfect way to start 2020!
