WF Virtual Activities

Having a newborn during a COVID phase means that we can't really go out to public places - we have to be even more careful than normal times. That is hard when you also have an energetic 9 year old. Thankfully the Town of Wake Forest has done a few virtual competitions and activities!

The first activity is a Virtual Fishing Tournament. They boys signed up to see if they could catch the biggest bass fish in WF. The guys went to our favorite fishing hole...the family pond! Normally they just fish from the banks, but this time they took the little paddle boat out in order to try to catch the big ones! They didn't disappoint. Blake caught the biggest fish  - almost a 3 pound bass! Joyner also caught one that was pretty close behind. They turned in their weights and info into the tournament and they won 3rd place! It was amazing and they even won a prize filled with some fishing goodies. It was a perfect solution to keeping Blake occupied outside while we had a newborn!

The next activity was a walking challenge. We had to walk 50 miles in the month of May. We walked our butts off and we had to sneak in those last few miles. This was a big task that we underestimated, but we had a blast walking some trails in WF! This was also a BIG deal bc it was on these walks that Blake learned to ride his bike! It just clicked and he has been riding ever since. :)
